COOKIE POLICY

General note

1) Description and scope of processing data

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are designed to improve our website's usability and to enable certain functions. Cookies are small text files that are assigned to the browser you use and stored on your hard drive. They are used to provide the party setting the cookie (in this case, us) with specific information. Cookies are either stored on your hard drive or device memory and cannot cause damage to your computer system. Cookies cannot run any programs or transmit any viruses to your computer.

Our website does work without cookies that are not necessary for technical reasons, but you will lose some features and functionality if you choose to disable them. We therefore recommend that you set your browser to always accept optional cookies.

2) Types of cookies

Here is a list of the cookies we use on the website, and what we use them for.

  1. a) Session cookie
When you are actively navigating a website, a session cookie containing a session identifier is stored in your computer's memory, so you do not need to log on again when moving from one page to another, for example. Session cookies are deleted when you log off from the website, your session expires automatically, or you close the browser.
  2. b) Persistent cookie

A persistent cookie remains on your computer until its set expiry date and enables websites to remember your information and settings the next time you visit the site. This gives you easier access to the website and its functions, as you do not have to change the language settings, for example. When the cookie reaches its expiry date, it is automatically deleted when you return to the website that created it.

  1. c) Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies are those that do not originate from the website operator. They can be used to collect information for advertising, user-specific contents, and web statistics. We use third-party cookies to analyze and regularly improve the use of our website. The statistics we gather allow us to improve our offering and make our website more interesting to you.

3) Purpose and legal basis for processing data

Not every cookie is required to provide a website function, which is why the cookies used on the website are broadly classified into strictly necessary cookies and optional cookies. Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent and are essential to navigate around the website and use its functions. The data collected by these cookies is not used to generate user profiles.

Optional cookies require your consent and are not absolutely essential to navigate around the website and use its functions. These cookies, especially analysis cookies, are used to enhance the performance and functionality of our website. Analysis cookies tell us how the website is used, allowing us to continually optimize our offering.

Our use of strictly necessary cookies to deliver a functional website falls under the area of legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR

We only use optional cookies (especially third-party cookies) if we have obtained your explicit consent. If you enable cookies other than strictly necessary cookies when visiting our website, your use of these cookies is based on your voluntary consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR.

Settings and right to withdraw consent

1) Settings

Our cookie tool contains a list of the cookies that we use, a description of what we use them for, as well as additional information on the respective cookies.

You can change your cookie settings at any time by placing a green check mark next to the respective cookie (allow) or removing it (block) and then clicking "Save settings".  Your settings are stored on your computer or mobile device until you change or delete them (e.g. by deleting your browser history), or until you access the website with a different browser or device.

2) Right to withdraw consent

As stated in 4.1, you have the right to change your cookie settings at any time. You can do this either by enabling or disabling the individual cookies in our cookie tool, or by changing the settings of your browser. Most browsers are set to accept all cookies by default. However, you can configure your browser so that you are prompted each time to accept or refuse cookies before they are stored on your device, to allow or block specific cookies, or to block all cookies.

Please note that any changes you make to the settings will only affect that particular browser. If you use a different browser or device, you will need to make the settings again. Additionally, you can delete cookies from your device memory at any time. Refer to your browser's help section for information on cookie settings, how to change them, and how to delete cookies.
